As the year 2017 passes behind us, I would like to wish our readers a Happy 2018 New Year!

This blog is officially 1 year old since its inception at the beginning of 2017. I am really glad that I have "forced" myself to start up this bible devotion blog, as it has really help me to understand more about the scripture and at the same time open up my views to various understanding of the scripture and not be fixated to my previous church teachings. I would also like to thank my contributing partner, Merv, for his time and effort to share his wonderful experience in Christ. I hope this blog is both enjoyable and edifying to you too!

Reflections:

Year 2017 has been a mixed bag. Here are some highlights of my life: Started a bible blog, attended various churches and studying its teachings, joined a cell group, celebrated christmas in a cell group (yup, I don't celebrate christmas due to my previous church teachings, but now I am breaking the "rules"), did some good works for the needy, changed in boss, completed an exam, bought a cpap machine for my sleep apnea, discovered that I have heart problems, did my first root canal! yah!

In 2018, my resolutions are: Change of job, buying an apartment, continue to maintain this bible reading blog, get serious in investment, taking the next exam, find a church that I could settle in, find my soulmate, lose weight to improve sleep apnea by jogging at least 14km per week and eating right.

Sharing:

During 2017, I have subscribed to the verse, "He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much." Luke 16:10. I would try my best to live out the verse. However, it is not easy. But I have seen some improvements towards my work attitude and will continue to subscribe to it in 2018.

I would be adding one more verse in 2018, "forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors" Matthew 6:12. This verse is powerful as it relates to "Love thy neighbour as thyself" Mark 12:31. In life, we often are hurt by people either their actions or implied actions or words or body language. Likewise, we may hurt others too. The best way to let go of past hurts is to forgive those that has trespasses against us. Seeking revenge is not what Christ's teaching, but forgiveness is. As we begin to forgive others, even if they do not know that they had trespesses us, we begin to be at peace with men and God too. And this will put away all malice or wick intention towards the trespesser and you will be purify in heart.

Have a Blessed 2018!
